Danna grew up in New Hampshire and spent summers in Hebron, NH (pop. 459).  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1998 with a double major in Political Science and French.  She moved to Philadelphia in August, 1999 to pursue her Ph.D. at the Annenberg School under her advisor and mentor, Dr. Joseph Cappella.

Also in August 1999, Danna became a member of the improvisational comedy troupe, ComedySportz Philadelphia. There she met the talented and wonderful Michael Young. The two were married and joined by a red-headed blue-eyed Baxter Newland on December 16, 2004.  In August 2005, they "sold out" and left Center City Philly for Westmont, NJ.  After a courageous nine month battle with a benign brain tumor, Michael passed away in July 2006.

Danna is now an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Delaware where she teaches classes in mass communication and media effects.  She is enjoying every minute with her colleagues,  students, and her bright airy office.

Baxter turned two on December 16, and is a carefree joyful child.
