Danna grew up in New Hampshire and spent summers in Hebron, NH (pop. 459).  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1998 with a double major in Political Science and French.  She moved to Philadelphia in 1999 to pursue her Ph.D. at the Annenberg School under her advisor and mentor, Dr. Joseph Cappella.  She earned her PhD from Penn in 2007 and is now an Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Delaware where she teaches classes in mass communication, politics and entertainment, and media effects.

In 1999, Danna became a member of the improvisational comedy troupe, ComedySportz Philadelphia. There she met the dynamic Mike Young. The two were married and later joined by Baxter in 2004.  After a nine month battle with a brain tumor, Michael passed away in July 2006.

New Beginnings: In November 2007, Danna met the charming and wonderful PJ Gallagher. Danna and PJ were married in May 2009, surrounded by a gaggle of supportive family and friends... and a very happy Baxter Young.

Danna continues to perform monthly with ComedySportz Philly, the longest running improv show in Philadelphia (which Mike and his friends from Penn started in 1992).
